Domestic & International Operations

Paul Acosta is a member of the V2 Global Law Enforcement & Market Entry Advisory Team and will be responsible for the domestic and international operations. With thirty-four years of law enforcement experience and distinguished military service, Paul retired in 2025 as Deputy Chief of the Miami Beach Police Department. As Deputy Chief, he was second in command, overseeing administrative and operational functions, managing a $152 million budget, and coordinating major events such as hurricane relief operations, Super Bowls, Presidential Inaugurations, Memorial Day weekends, Spring Break activities, conferences, trade shows, and dignitary visits.

 

Prior to his law enforcement career, Paul served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, participating in significant operations such as Operation Sharp Edge (evacuating Americans from Liberia during civil unrest) and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm (liberation of Kuwait). His military service earned him the Combat Action Ribbon and the prestigious Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal for valor.

 

During his tenure at Miami Beach PD, Paul commanded critical divisions, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Training, Finance, and CALEA Accreditation- while also overseeing Community Affairs, Special Events, Off-Duty Employment, Records, Communications, Public Information, and all departmental technology. He previously served as Major of Police for Criminal Investigations and Patrol Operations; Captain and Commander of SWAT (serving as Sniper and Instructor); and liaison to the Office of Emergency Management.

 

Prior to law enforcement, Paul served in the United States Marine Corps. He took part in Operation Sharp Edge (evacuating Americans from Liberia) and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm (liberation of Kuwait), earning the Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

 

Paul began his career in North Carolina with the Kinston Police Department and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute & University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He also completed Boston University’s Senior Management in Policing (SMIP) program, the Leadership in Police Organizations Course, the Florida Police Chiefs’ Future Chiefs Seminar, and the Secret Service Dignitary Protection Seminar for Executives.
